Medium.com Platform Introduction

Medium is a very popular reading and writing platform in Europe and the United States, but there is little discussion about Medium on the Chinese Internet.

If you don’t know Medium, let me briefly introduce what it is. Those who are familiar with it can skip this part.

Medium is a well-known blog publishing platform, similar to blogosphere and Fanggezi. Medium primarily features knowledge-based and topic-focused articles, making it a platform with relatively high-quality content.

For writers, Medium has a clean layout and no ads. The WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor is easy to use, and there is no need to worry about how to design the layout. Therefore, many writers are attracted to create on it.

Simply put, Medium is a popular blogging website. Its user base is diverse, spanning all corners of the globe. However, the platform maintains a relatively single language, with English content predominating. The platform features content on a wide range of topics, with money -making topics playing a prominent role.

A more detailed description:

  • This is a content platform founded by American Evan Williams in 2012.
  • This is an international platform where you can write in English, Chinese, Japanese, etc. However, English is still the mainstream language of this platform, and Medium's recommendation system only recommends English articles.
  • Medium is a blogging platform where you can read and publish articles.
  • There are many excellent creators and high-quality articles on Medium. If you look closely, you will find that many articles in the Chinese community are translated from Medium.

Types of content on Medium.com

#1 Blogs

Blogs are the most basic feature of Medium, also known as "Stories", which allow authors to publish whatever they want.

This is the basic unit of personal creation, presented as a timeline on your profile. Your blog posts appear like a waterfall ( like a Facebook dynamic wall), and readers need to scroll down to find content. It's ideal for short content creation, such as sharing personal opinions, summarizing experiences, and telling stories.

As for how to start writing an article, I will share with you detailed graphic instructions in the following paragraphs.

Medium Blogs

#2 Publications

Different from blogs, Publications is a content model created by Medium. Its concept is a bit like a "journal", so some people also call it a "content collection".

Publications are created by different authors (divided into editors and writers, so it's also possible to have just one editor who does all the editing) based on the same field or theme. These are often used for official content releases by companies, organizations, and institutions.

Another great feature of it is that, unlike the "waterfall" layout, its interface can be designed by yourself, including categories, navigation bars, latest articles, popular articles, etc., which can be manually adjusted and arranged, which adds to the user experience.

Medium Publications

#3 NewsLetters

The third content format on Medium is "NewsLetters," which can be translated as "press releases." However, to create a NewsLetter, you must already be an editor for Publications.

The most important feature of NewsLetters is that it allows you to send emails to your subscribers and monitor their data from the backend. Furthermore, this subscription list can be exported and used in other channels.

Personally, I think this feature is actually the "blog + email" sales method used by most bloggers, but Medium cleverly combines the two on the same platform, making it more convenient for authors.

Introduction to Medium.com's features

#1 Followers (Tracking)

Each author will have a "Follow" button, which allows you to track your favorite authors. If the author publishes new content, the system will notify you immediately.

When you enter each author's personal page, you can also see "Author Following" and "Users Following This Author", which is the same concept as Instagram following.

Medium Follow

#2 Claps, Highlights, Responses

These three features can be said to be the most important interactive mechanisms on Medium:

  • Claps : If you think the content is good, you can click the clap button to show your support (up to 50 times). This mechanism was once used to determine the author's income, but now it only serves as an encouragement function.
  • Highlights : The highlighting function. If you think a sentence or paragraph in the article is good, you can select it and mark it as Highlights, just like highlighting with a silver pen.
  • Responses : Message function. If you have any ideas you want to express after reading the content of other authors, you can directly use the Responses function to reply in the message area.

These three functions, plus the Followers function mentioned above, can all be prompted in the system's "Notifications".

In addition, on the mobile version, just click on the personal profile to see the articles that each author applauded, highlighted, and responded to, deepening the dissemination of high-quality content.

Medium's clap and mark response feature

#3 Reading List

Medium automatically saves, archives, highlights, and recently read content and puts it into your Reading List. This makes reading and finding information more convenient and quicker in the future.

Medium Reading List

#4 Emails

If you have Publications or NewsLetters, you can send emails to every subscriber to disseminate information content instantly.

Of course, if you are just a general blogs user, you can also embed an external email subscription box (such as Kit) in the article to directly collect readers' emails and also send emails to subscribers.

You can also see that the transaction was successful in the wildcard transaction record.

Differences between free and paid memberships

There are no advertisements from other companies on the Medium platform. The main source of revenue is subscription membership. Through the Partner Program, part of the revenue is returned to the authors.

1. Limitations for free users

Articles published on Medium are divided into free and open reading and paid reading, and the number of paid articles that free users can read each month is capped at 3.

2. Benefits of becoming a paid member

(Updated in 2025) Medium adopts a subscription-based membership system, which is divided into

  • Regular paid membership: Monthly plan ($5 USD) / Annual plan ($60 USD)
  • Friend Paid Membership: Monthly Plan ($15 USD) / Annual Plan ($150 USD)

Once you become a paid member, you have unlimited access to articles, including those marked as paid. Furthermore, a portion of your subscription fee goes back to the author. If you're able to become a "Friends Paid Member," the percentage going back to the author increases by fourfold.

Writing tutorials on Medium.com

Writing on Medium is easy, thanks to its intuitive editing interface. Besides the "what you see is what you get" interface, it also offers an automatic save function and a massive built-in image library, making it incredibly convenient for writers.

The part that requires more attention will be some detailed settings before release, which will be explained step by step below.

1. Enter the editor

After registering an account on the platform, click "Write" next to the avatar in the upper right corner to enter the editor.

After editing the article, don't rush to publish it. There are still some functions that can be set or used.

Next to the green "Publish" button, there are three dots. Clicking them will bring up a drop-down menu where you can make additional settings for the article.

  • Add to publication: Add to Publication. You can add the article directly to your own publication.
  • Share draft link: Share a draft link. Sometimes, a manufacturer or someone else might need to review a draft first. You can get a draft link here and share it with them.
  • Share to Twitter: Share to Twitter. Nothing special, just share to Twitter.
  • Manage unlisted setting: Article visibility settings. You can set whether your article requires payment to be viewed.
  • Change featured image: Set the cover image. You can select an image from your article to use as your cover image.
  • Change display title/subtitle: Set the title and subtitle displayed on the homepage or social media.

How to make money on Medium.com

In traditional content platforms, creators make money in two main ways:

  • Insert advertisements around articles and earn some advertising fees through clicks
  • Directly publish paid content, users need to purchase it at a certain price

But Medium has chosen a very unique business model. Specifically, it is as follows:

#1 Medium Membership

The Medium Membership system can be said to be a mechanism that maintains the operation of the entire Medium.

Medium allows authors to set their own content as "paid viewing", also known as Metered Paywall, so that readers who are Medium members (or those who obtain Friend Links provided by the author) are eligible to read.

Membership is available for $5 per month or $50 per year. Payment can be made by credit card or PayPal. (Also, membership can be gifted to a friend.)

All membership fees paid by members will be used to pay authors who have applied for the "Partner Program", which will be explained in detail in the next paragraph.

#2 Medium Partner Program

The Medium Partner Program is a way for Medium authors to make money. If you want to make money by writing articles, you need to apply to join this partner program.

To join the program, your article content and account followers must first meet the requirements and apply to the official website. Only after the application is approved can you earn income by writing articles.

In the past, revenue was calculated based on the number of “claps,” but officials later discovered that this mechanism was being abused, leading to uneven revenue distribution among authors, so they changed it to focusing on “view rate.”

Here's a quick explanation of the revenue mechanism based on view rate:

  • Let's say I read 20 articles on Medium this month, 10 of which were free and 10 were behind a paywall. As I said before, free articles don't generate revenue for authors, so the authors of the first 10 articles still don't get any revenue.
  • The authors of the other 10 articles visible to members can get the income, and they will share my $5 according to a certain ratio. After November 2019, Medium's distribution algorithm is as follows: the money is distributed according to the proportion of readers' reading time, for example:
  • In these 10 articles, assuming I spent 10 minutes reading each article, my cumulative reading time this month is 100 minutes. Then the author of each article can get 10% of the membership fee from me, which means each person can get $0.5 from me.
  • Of these 10 articles, let's say I spent 50 minutes reading the first article and another 50 minutes reading the other 9 articles. Then the author of the first article can get 50% of the membership fee from me, which is $2.5.

Medium will then distribute each member's membership fee as described above, distributing it to the authors of the articles they read.

It should be noted that:

You can't earn revenue just by reading your content; you need to be a Medium member. Medium also allows you to earn revenue if the reader becomes a Medium member within 30 days of reading your article.

In addition, the content format is not limited to blogs; content on publications can also have a profit effect.

When publishing an article, creators can choose whether to add their article to the paywall.

If an article is not included in the paywall, then it is just like a normal blog post, anyone can read it, and the creator cannot obtain any financial benefits.

If a creator adds a paywall to their article, only Medium members can read it, and the creator has the opportunity to earn revenue.
The Medium membership fee is fixed at $5 per month, and after joining Medium Membership, you can read all articles on Medium without any restrictions.

Then Medium will allocate readers' membership fees based on the reading time of member readers. The specific operation is roughly as follows.

Basically, a reader pays a fixed monthly fee of $5 to Medium for membership. This money isn't collected by Medium, but rather distributed among the authors. Medium allocates this money to the authors based on a calculated proportion of the reader's reading time.

Similarly, Medium allocates all membership fees it collects to support content creators in the same manner as above. If you're a creator, you can also publish articles on Medium. If your articles are read by members, then congratulations, you've earned US dollars. Creators' earnings are settled once a month, and the proceeds will be deposited into your bank account between the 4th and 10th of the following month.

As you can see, Medium's payment model is quite innovative. It requires users to pay if they want to read high-quality articles. However, you don't have to pay for every article; you only need to pay $5, which is only 35 RMB, making it quite reasonable. Once you become a member, you have unlimited access to all articles on Medium.

At the same time, your $5 is not directly given to a specific author, but is calculated based on the reading time parameter. Good articles will be read repeatedly by readers, and their authors will also earn more income.

Notice:

Unlike YouTube, where the more views, the more money you make, Medium's partner program doesn't require a high number of views to earn compensation. For example, if a subscriber only reads one or two articles a month, the author of those one or two articles could earn a substantial portion of the subscriber's $5 monthly subscription fee.

The amount of money you can earn from an article depends on the number of articles a paying member reads that month (the more articles a member reads in a month, the less money they earn from each article).

Writer Shelby said she wasn't surprised by the results of this one-week Medium writing monetization test, as her own YouTube channel had the same problem: it made almost no income in its first year. But after ten years, the accumulated results were quite impressive.

Shelby Income Chart

Similarly, writer Zulie only earned $3.32 in her first month on Medium.

Zulie's first month's revenue on Medium

However, Zulie’s income increased to $528.85 in the second month, and as her articles and followers (subscribers) increased, her monthly income also increased. After the fifth month, her monthly income reached more than $1,000.

How to make money blogging on Medium.com?

Shelby concluded that making money by writing on Medium is not quick money or big money, but if you have a passion for writing and the patience to accumulate personal works, Medium will be an excellent tool for you to monetize your written content.

How to increase Medium traffic (Medium traffic sources)

We’ve all known that Medium is a fairly large platform with a large number of users, but how many are there exactly?

According to data from SimilarWeb , Medium has averaged 230 million visitors per month over the past three months:

Average monthly traffic of Medium

I believe everyone will be curious at this time, where does all this traffic come from?

From the data, we can see that in the past three months, the main sources of Medium's traffic are:

Medium traffic sources

As shown in the chart, we can see that Medium's main traffic sources are: Search (search traffic), Direct (direct traffic), and Social (social traffic). To obtain this traffic, there are several ways to do it:

#1 Medium SEO

SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization". It is an optimization technique that makes the website and its content more search engine-friendly. It can help you rank your articles at the top of search engine keywords, thereby gaining more traffic.

Because the Medium source code is not open, it is not easy to improve the Medium platform structure. The part we can control is On-Page, so the following part will focus on On-Page SEO .

How to do Medium SEO?

1. Medium Title, Medium Subtitle

When readers read an article, the first thing they see is most likely the title, so the title is a major focus in SEO.

The following points should be noted in the title:

  • Fill in the core keywords that the article targets naturally.
  • Please keep your sentences coherent and do not insert irrelevant words or symbols.
  • Focus on the core content so that readers can know at a glance whether there is the content they need.

The title settings can be seen in the figure below:

Medium Title

Next, the subheading (Heading 2, H2) will also be a key point, representing the content structure of your article. Pay attention to the following points:

  • The levels are in good order, don’t jump around.
  • Make the content structured and divided into sections with key points, rather than just one sentence at a time.
  • In addition to core keywords, related keywords can be used in subtitles.

The subtitle settings can be seen in the figure below:

Medium Subtitle

2. Meta Title, Meta Description

The title is different from the meta title. The meta title can also be called the SEO title. Think of it as one for readers and one for search engines. (See: 3 Ways to Use Article Titles)

The content set by Meta will be displayed on the SERP (search results page), so in the Meta Title and Meta Description, you need to pay attention to the following points:

  • It is recommended that the Meta Title be different from the Title (the default is the same) and should be able to arouse curiosity and entice people to click.
  • The recommended length of Meta Title is 15 characters, otherwise it will not be fully displayed on search engines.
  • Incorporate keywords naturally into the Meta Title, once or twice only, don’t repeat them too deliberately.
  • The recommended length of Meta Description is 60-100 Chinese characters, for the same reason as Meta Title.
  • Present the content of the article in the Meta Description in straightforward sentences, and try to be as smooth and natural as possible.
  • The core keywords and related keywords can be naturally presented in the Meta Description to attract clicks.

In the "More settings" menu in the upper right corner, you can find the place to set Meta data, as shown below:

Medium SEO Title

3. URL

Medium's URL naming can only be set before the article is published. If it is not set, the title content will become the URL. This usually happens when writing articles with non-English titles, which will make the URL fat and ugly. If you don't like it, remember to customize it.

设定位置:Story Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Customize Story Link -> Custom

Medium Customize Story Link

The URL needs to be understandable to both search engines and readers, so it is recommended to:

  • Including core keywords in the URL makes it easier for search engines to understand the content of the article.
  • Since the URL will be displayed on the SERP, it is concise and clear to help increase searcher clicks.
  • Don't deliberately add too many meaningless words or special symbols.
  • Both Chinese and English are acceptable, but they must be easily distinguishable by searchers.

In addition, Medium also allows you to set up Canonical Link, which allows you to set up a "standard URL."

Simply put, if you've already published this article elsewhere, publishing the same content again will be considered "duplicate content" to search engines. They won't know which article is the original and which one to rank, which could impact your SEO.

Therefore, the Canonical Link is to set a "standard URL" to let search engines know which article is the original one.

In the upper right corner menu, under "More settings" and "Advanced Settings", you can find the place to set the article URL and Canonical Link:

Medium Customize Canonical Link

4. Alt Text

Medium allows you to set alternative text (Alt) for images, as well as captions. Simply click on the image to set them.

Image optimization is becoming increasingly important nowadays. Setting important tags for images can also help your Medium articles be found more easily through images.

The key points of image SEO are as follows:

  • Adding alternative text to each image makes it easier for search engines to determine the content of the image.
  • Use alternative text that clearly describes the image. For example, "a yellow Persian cat" is better than "cat."
  • You can set keywords in the alternative text, but remember not to deliberately stack keywords.
  • Do not enter meaningless symbols or words in the alternative text.

Just click on the image and the "Alt Text" will appear above it where you can set:

Medium Alt Text

5. Medium H tag

Medium's font sizes are very simple, with only three types: large T, small T, and regular paragraph; the large T will be recognized as an H1 tag (as shown in the picture above), while the small T will be recognized as an H2 tag.

As for Best practice, we do not recommend having more than one H1 on a web page. Therefore, in theory, we should only use a large T for the top title, so that the entire article will have only one H1.

However, based on the aesthetics of the layout and the need for paragraph separation, most people usually use the big T as a subheading for a paragraph, and the small T as a subheading. (Including me)

Medium H tag

Based on my personal experience and observation, using just one large T doesn't make much difference to search results; it all depends on whether or not you're willing to adhere to this guideline. As a writer and SEO expert, I still recommend using appropriate paragraphing and subheading; whether or not to use a large T or a small T isn't the most important thing.

Proper segmentation not only makes it easier for search engines to understand the article structure, but also makes it much easier for readers to read.

6. Links

External links are very important in SEO, and on Medium they are a way to make your content more complete.

A good piece of content will not just talk to itself, but will quote different external information and link to the content written by itself or others on the platform as a supplement. This part is also called "external links" and "internal links".

But it doesn't mean the more links the better. According to the Penguin Algorithm, links should be "natural" and relevant in content, not random.

#2 Leverage platform traffic

Medium is a platform with huge traffic, and making good use of the platform's own traffic is also a way to make your content seen by more people.

Here are a few ways to get more people noticed.

1. Focus on a single area

In fact, this is somewhat similar to the concept of a niche market . In blog management, focusing on one field will bring a huge gap in authority and professionalism compared to spreading out into multiple fields.

Especially on a platform like Medium, which is full of experts, continuing to focus on one market or one field will be a signal of professionalism and can attract readers who want to understand the field.

If you have read carefully, you will find that authors who are seriously managing Medium, even in different articles, the core values they expound on will still revolve around a certain field. It can be said that they are exploring the same field from different angles.

2. Make good use of tags

Authors can add up to 5 tags to each article.

These tags can help readers find your articles more easily when searching for related words on the platform, thereby attracting more readers.

You can set up up to 5 hashtags by clicking "More settings" in the upper right corner of the editing screen.

Medium Tags

3. Call to Action

In the middle or at the end of your article, you can include a call to action, asking readers to follow your account. This way, when you publish a new article, you can immediately notify your followers and encourage them to read your content further.

It's also common to see authors leave contact information such as email addresses and phone numbers, providing readers with further contact information. (But you can't ask everyone to applaud you, as this violates the platform's regulations.)

4. Add further reading on your own

Although the platform's algorithm will automatically find related articles for readers in the "Related reads" at the bottom of each article, allowing us to obtain more information.

But for authors, systematic extended reading often leads not to their own content, but to related content from other authors.

If you want readers to watch more of your content, I suggest adding extended reading of your other articles in the article or at the end of the article to keep readers reading. (This is also a common practice on the platform)

5. Interact with other authors

Medium is a platform that values interaction. As mentioned earlier, if you clap, save, highlight, or respond to any article, the author will receive a notification.

If the area you specialize in happens to be what the author is interested in (or the two of you are in the same field), then the other party is very likely to pay attention to you and read your articles.

#3 Social Media Traffic

If you pay attention to the pie chart at the beginning of this paragraph, you will find that there is actually quite a lot of traffic coming from social networks.

From what I've observed, many Medium authors are already established KOLs in their respective fields, so their social media presence (e.g., Facebook pages, groups, and personal dashboards) already has a significant following. They often share Medium articles on their own social media platforms, using them to drive traffic.

For example, if you're familiar with the PM field, you're probably familiar with Evonne Tsai. She's published numerous articles on Medium, taught numerous PM courses, and is the lead lecturer for the Business Thinking Academy.

From the number of responses and shares, we can see that there are definitely many readers who are introduced to her articles through social media, which further proves that using social media to direct traffic to Medium is indeed a way to increase traffic.

#4 Check the mobile version of the article layout

I usually write on a computer, but over 90% of my website traffic comes from mobile devices. Four or five lines of text on a computer can become nearly ten on a phone! Here's how to check the layout of your article on your phone in a computer browser.

Strictly speaking, typography has no direct relationship with SEO, but improving typography and avoiding crowded text will help the reader experience. When users stay longer, it will also help SEO.

Right-click on the article background screen and select "Check":

Medium Inspect

Click the phone icon above the code to view the mobile version of the article. Check which paragraphs have too many lines and wrap them:

View the article layout on mobile phone

I’m used to changing paragraphs after typing two or three lines on a computer, which is about four lines on a mobile phone.

Pros and Cons of Medium.com

#1 Pros

  • The Medium platform itself has a large amount of traffic. Authors focus on producing high-quality content to attract readers on the platform who are interested in the topic in the field, helping authors to conduct further follow-up marketing or business activities.
  • The articles are of high quality and depth. Technical articles provide detailed explanations and accompanying research references; opinion pieces offer in-depth analysis with supporting evidence; and collation pieces offer well-organized summaries and supplementary content. The content is highly valuable.
  • To create a pleasant reading environment, the platform has no embedded ads. Founder Williams even called the advertising model used by other platforms a "broken system."
  • Adopting the "what you see is what you get" editing method, the picture you see when editing is the picture that will be presented after publishing, so that the author does not need to spend too much time on typesetting and can focus more on the content.
  • When editing an article, the system will automatically save it after a few seconds, eliminating the need for manual saving. This prevents content from being lost due to a sudden disconnection or other unexpected events.
  • The interaction rate on Medium is very high. Good articles will be applauded and encouraged. If there are thoughts and ideas to share about a certain content, they will also communicate and discuss with the author in the comments section. There are even many authors who directly write another article to respond to the content.
  • The Publications feature beautifies the existing layout to resemble a journal, allows for co-editing by different authors, and proactively sends content to readers you follow.
  • Starting from 2021/2, Medium has reopened the domain customization function. As long as you become a Medium Member, you can change the domain name by yourself and no longer have medium.com.
  • In addition to the desktop version, Medium also offers a mobile app for easy access. The app can also be configured to push featured articles daily, and you can receive notifications as soon as authors you follow publish articles.
  • Let the author focus on writing without worrying about blog layout settings, website settings, etc.
  • Medium has accumulated a lot of communities with various article themes. For example, if you want to understand the trends of new technology knowledge, you can search for keywords to see the opinions shared by many industry professionals. If you are an author, you can quickly increase traffic after publishing articles on the same topic.
  • Encourage community interaction. In addition to leaving comments under the article, you can also highlight specific paragraphs of an article and leave comments for discussion.

#2 Disadvantages

  • The data remains on the Medium platform, which means authors lack full control over their work. If the platform experiences a sudden issue or policy change, it's unclear whether users' rights will be affected.
  • While the platform has a large user base, it's still primarily English-speaking, with Chinese speakers being a minority. However, the number of Chinese users has been steadily increasing in recent years, and I'm optimistic about its future growth.
  • Familiar website management tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console cannot be installed on Medium, making it difficult to track user behavior and creating a marketing barrier.
  • All links on Medium are set to "nofollow," meaning they don't pass authority to external websites (though nofollow is currently only a hint, not a requirement). (Click here to learn more about link attributes.)
  • Medium's source code is not open source like WordPress, which means that it is impossible to adjust the structure of the Medium platform, and what can be done technically is relatively limited.
  • If you want to move from Medium to other platforms, there is no "one-click migration" function. You need to use other methods to move, which is very troublesome. (Instructions will be provided later)

Tips for Using Medium.com

#1: Engage Your Audience

To maximize your earnings on Medium, it's crucial to create engaging content that encourages readers to interact with your articles. Ask questions, invite feedback, and write longer, more thoughtful articles to keep readers interested. Engaging through likes and comments can help increase your visibility on the platform.

#2: Create a compelling headline

Your article title is your reader's first impression, so make it count. Titles that promise actionable insights, such as "how to" articles, tend to perform better. Focus on creating titles that convey clear benefits, which can lead to higher click-through rates and increased engagement.

#3: Leverage curation tags

When publishing your article, use relevant tags to help Medium's algorithm categorize your content. You can select up to five tags, so choose a mix of popular and niche tags to increase your chances of being curated by Medium's editorial team. Curation can significantly increase your article's visibility and readership.

#4: Submit to Medium Publication

Submitting your article to established Medium publications can significantly expand your reach. Many publications have large followings, and being featured can lead to increased views and engagement. Even if your article is awaiting review, it never hurts to submit to multiple publications to maximize exposure.

#5: Analyze Your Competitors

Studying successful writers on Medium can provide valuable insights into what works. Analyze their headlines, article structure, and visual elements to understand how they engage their readers. Use this information to refine your own writing style and strategy, rather than outright copying their content.

#6: Join an interactive group

While interactive groups can be both good and bad, they can still be beneficial if used correctly. Connect with other Medium writers and agree to support each other's work through likes and comments. Building a network of supportive peers can help increase the visibility of your articles.

#7: Actively participate in the Medium community

Medium is more than just a publishing platform; it's a community. Engage with other writers and readers by commenting on their posts and following works you admire. This interaction can lead to reciprocal engagement, boosting your visibility and readership.

#8: Optimize for SEO

Many writers overlook the importance of SEO on Medium. Conduct keyword research and optimize your articles for search engines to increase your chances of being found. Use appropriate titles, interlink your articles, and include eye-catching images to enhance your content.

#9: Promote Your Articles Externally

To gain initial traction for your articles, consider promoting them on external platforms like Reddit or Facebook groups. This can drive additional traffic to your Medium stories, which may positively impact Medium’s algorithm and increase your article’s visibility.

#10: Import existing content

If you already have a blog or website, take advantage of Medium's import feature to syndicate your existing content. This allows you to reach new audiences without having to create entirely new articles. Just be sure to edit the imported content to fit Medium's format and add a credit to the original source.
